DuCar Construction has built custom homes and completed renovations across Mandeville and St. Tammany Parish. Licensed statewide in Louisiana, residential and commercial, with the same signed scope, permitted plans and warranty we bring to every job.
Ground-up construction on your lot — plans, permits, site work and build under one signed contract.
Down to the framing and back up. Structure, systems and finishes, with the scope written before demolition starts.
New square footage tied into an existing structure — new loads through old framing, matched elevations, a roofline that reads as original.
DuCar is a FORTIFIED Contractor, certified to build to the IBHS FORTIFIED Roof™ standard.
Inside the city limits, residential work is permitted by the City of Mandeville; outside them it is St. Tammany Parish. Different submittal, different plan review, different inspectors than Orleans or Jefferson. We have worked under all of them, and we build that calendar into the schedule before the contract is signed.
Mature oak and pine are protected here, and what you can clear is decided before you can site the house. Lot layout, driveway, drainage and the build envelope get worked out around the canopy, not after it.
Much of the Northshore sits well above the Southshore, but the flood-elevation requirement that applies to your lot is still set locally and still varies property to property. We pull the elevation certificate and build to what your jurisdiction actually requires.
South Louisiana wind requirements govern framing, sheathing, fastening and roof assembly on both sides of Lake Pontchartrain. Built to the FORTIFIED standard, a qualifying designation may also reduce the hurricane portion of your homeowners premium; actual savings depend on your property, zone, insurer and policy.
We also build in Covington, Madisonville, Slidell, Metairie and New Orleans.
Louisiana RES 883334 and COMM 63084 — residential and commercial, statewide — plus a Mississippi residential builder license (No. 22946). We are building in Mississippi right now.
A+ with the Better Business Bureau and a 5.0-star reputation across 58 reviews.
200+ completed projects across Greater New Orleans and the Northshore.
Backed by the Louisiana New Home Warranty Act — one year workmanship, two years systems, five years major structural.
It depends on the address. Inside city limits, the City of Mandeville’s Department of Planning and Development handles permits; outside them, St. Tammany Parish Permits and Inspections does. We confirm which one applies before plans are drawn.
Not freely. Mature trees are regulated in Mandeville, so what can come down is settled during permitting, before the house is sited. We lay out the house, the driveway and the drainage around the trees that have to stay.
Often less than on the Southshore, but the requirement is still set lot by lot. We pull the flood zone and the elevation certificate before we price the foundation.
Our office is in Metairie, across the Causeway, and we have built on the Northshore since 2012.
Bring us your plans, your lot or your project goals and we will walk you through the construction path.
