Maybe. The Louisiana Department of Insurance’s Fortify Homes Program awards grants of up to $10,000 toward a FORTIFIED Roof through lottery rounds. Among other rules, the home must be your primary residence with a homestead exemption and carry wind coverage. The grant is paid to an approved FORTIFIED contractor, and any cost above it is yours. Do not start work before the program approves your project: work begun early is not eligible. Current rounds and rules are on the program’s website.
